Ajith is a lawyer and company secretary with almost 25 years of professional experience. He started off in the legal profession in the year 1999, initially engaging in litigation at both High Courts and Supreme Court. Since 2001, he has focused on corporate laws, affiliating with law firms including leadership position at a leading national law firm’s Chennai office.
Ajith holds extensive transactional proficiency, pivotal in major M&A and joint ventures. He’s a trusted advisor to multinational corporations, offering guidance on India entry strategies, structuring, foreign direct investment, technical collaborations, foreign exchange regulations, corporate restructuring, company law, commercial contracts, privacy/data protection, and compliance. His corporate/M&A expertise has earned him consistent recognition by Chambers & Partners.
Ajith has substantial experience in the banking sector. His banking sector experience involves advising major foreign banks on compliance and regulatory matters under Indian banking regulations, including drafting and reviewing loan/security documents and other banking operational agreements.
In his career, Ajith has advised several major aircraft leasing and financing companies with respect to their leasing/financing transactions in India, including skilfully managing aircraft repossession litigation. His proficiency spans jurisdictional analyses, transaction document reviews, regulatory approvals, and repossession strategies.
